Meet Samantha; this is her story.
From Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Samantha began her tech journey as a child, teaching herself to disassemble and reassemble electronic equipment. She was the first member of her family to get accepted into university, studying Oceanic Engineering at the Polytechnic School of UFRJ in Brazil.
During her student years, Samantha experienced inequality as the only female in her boat modelling group, being ostracized from projects during team trips as her teammates spent their evenings in the male dormitory strategizing. Frustrated, she used her determination and negotiation skills to overcome this obstacle, ensuring she had her voice heard in team planning. And today, the captain of the boat modelling team is female!
As an experienced Senior Data Analyst, Samantha believes in encouraging females to seek management and leadership roles in tech.
