Carrol Chang

Carrol Chang
CEO

Carrol Chang was appointed CEO of Andela in September 2024 and is committed to scaling the business while remaining true to its mission-driven approach of connecting brilliance with opportunity. She joined us from Uber, where she led efforts to improve work for nearly 7 million flexible workers around the world as the Global Head of Driver & Courier Operations.   

She has held positions with McKinsey Company, Portraits of Hope, and the administration of President Barack Obama. She is passionate about expanding opportunity in all forms to underrepresented populations and making commerce more generous and kind for all stakeholders.  She holds a BA from Harvard and both a JD and MBA from Northwestern University. 

Carrol resides in Washington, D.C., with her husband and three young children. In her spare time, she has a creative passion for crafting mouth-watering charcuterie boards and epic Halloween costumes for her family.

Barun Singh

Chief Product & Technology Officer

Barun Singh is the Chief Product & Technology Officer at Andela, where he is focused on scaling the platform and product strategy to deliver exceptional value to clients and technologists. His work accelerates innovation across the business and expands access to global opportunities for top technical talent. A mission-driven technology leader, Barun brings deep experience in climate tech, SaaS, and data-driven innovation to his role.

Barun is a 2x founder/ CTO/ CPO. His first company, WegoWise, was a pioneering building analytics platform that supported energy efficiency. This was acquired by Appfolio, where he went on to serve as Chief Software Architect. Prior to joining Andela, he was a founder of TIME CO2 where he launched CO2.com, a platform enabling transparent, science-backed investment in climate solutions. 

Barun completed his undergraduate studies at age 16 and holds three graduate degrees, including two from MIT where he conducted AI research. He holds a patent for that work and has served on the MIT Board of Trustees.

Barun lives in Berkeley, CA, where he is very active in his local community. He helped launch a local bicycle nonprofit, and holds roles in city and county government zero-waste commissions. He lives plant-based, zero-waste, and is a lover of all animals. He enjoys building things and getting his hands in the dirt whenever possible.

Geoff MacNeil is the Chief Revenue Officer at Andela, where he leads global go-to-market strategy, revenue operations, and partnerships to accelerate growth and deliver value to clients and technologists. A seasoned technology executive with over 15 years of experience, Geoff is passionate about how technology shapes customers, markets, and the people who build it.

Before joining Andela, Geoff held senior leadership roles at Crowdbotics, an NEA-backed startup where he served as VP of Revenue; at Gigster Network, acquired by Ionic Partners; at Infusion, acquired by Avanade; and at Sun Microsystems, acquired by Oracle. He brings a proven track record of driving triple-digit growth, building scalable systems, hiring top-tier talent, and leading with a partner- and customer-obsessed mindset to meet market demand and fuel sustainable expansion.

Geoff holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph where he developed a deep interest in the mechanics of business strategy and customer behavior.

A resident of New York City, Geoff loves to spend time with his family. He’s an avid Knicks fan and a frequent traveler who enjoys discovering new places and perspectives wherever he goes.

Kennith Jackson is the Senior Vice President of Solutions at Andela, where he partners with clients to design transformative AI and cloud solutions that drive growth, agility, and long-term transformation. A technologist at heart with over 20 years of experience, Kennith has led high-performing teams and industry-defining projects that sit at the intersection of AI, customer experience, and organizational transformation.

Before joining Andela, Kennith served as a senior executive at Google Cloud, where he built and scaled high impact AI and cloud solutions across retail, telecom, healthcare, financial services, and the public sector. His leadership in helping Fortune 100 clients—including Lowe’s, T-Mobile, and Equifax—navigate complex cloud transformations and adopt cutting-edge AI technologies has unlocked billions in value. He is known for applying the same discipline and focus from his nearly two decades of martial arts training to business: building resilient teams, driving innovation under pressure, and turning challenges into high-impact outcomes.

Kennith holds a Master of Business Administration and Master of Engineering Management from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and McCormick School of Engineering respectively. A lifelong learner, he blends technical depth with a nuanced understanding of systems thinking, economics, and mindfulness—always looking to resolve contradictions and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

He lives in Atlanta with his family and is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and a former world #1 in his division. Whether on the mat or in the boardroom, Kennith brings clarity, structure, and a deep commitment to continuous improvement.

Lila Millsap

Lila Millsap is an influential leader noted for crafting transformative solutions that cultivate exceptional employee experiences and foster inclusive cultures across global remote teams. As the VP of People at Andela, Lila is actively creating a positive organizational culture that fosters growth, innovation, and high performance with a focus on sustainable results.  

Prior to her role at Andela, she served as VP of People at InVision, where she employed innovative approaches to the talent lifecycle. This, coupled with her adeptness in implementing HR as a product, contributed significantly to InVision's success. 

With a Master's degree in HR Management and a background in People Business Partnership, Lila brings a unique blend of creativity and strategic acumen to her leadership roles. Her passion for empowering teams to thrive in remote environments, coupled with her deep understanding of global talent dynamics, positions her as a trailblazer in the realm of remote culture building and people leadership. 

Lila is a California native where she lives with her husband and 17 year old step-daughter. When not deep in thought partnership you'll likely find her on a hiking trail or some other outdoor adventure.

General Counsel

Erin Lothson leads the Legal Team at Andela and is driven to connect Andela’s customers with the brilliant global Talent on Andela’s network. Erin is adept at transforming Legal functions to unlock incredible business growth, and she is deeply committed to making Andela the premier global talent platform and to connecting brilliance with opportunity. 

Prior to joining Andela, Erin served as General Counsel for Dandy, a late-stage VC-backed hypergrowth company. Before that, she held senior legal roles at Uber Freight, a subsidiary of Uber Technologies, and Groupon. 

Throughout her career, Erin has been recognized for her excellence and influence in the legal and tech industries, earning honors such as Top Women Leaders in Law 2025, Top 100 Leaders in Health Tech 2024, and Chicago Lawyers 40 Under 40 in 2021. 

She earned her juris doctorate degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, studied pre-law at Oxford University, and earned her bachelor's degree with Honors in three years from The Ohio State University. 

Erin calls Chicago home along with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she has a passion for distance running and rooting for her children’s sports teams.

2014

Beginnings

Founded by Jeremy Johnson, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, Nadayar Enegesi, Brice Nkengsa, Ian Carnevale, and Christina Sass; Andela launched its first recruitment cycle in Lagos, Nigeria, hiring its first cohort of six Nigerian software engineers after receiving 700 applications.

2015

Andela secures Series A funding

Andela secured $10 million in Series A funding led by Spark Capital, with participation from Seed investors, and opened operations in Nairobi, Kenya.

2016

First all-female cohort

Andela went through its Series B funding round, raising $24 million led by The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative; holds its first all-female cohort in Kenya.

2017

Andela secures Series C funding

Series C funding round brings total funding to over $80 million; Andela opens in our third African market: Kampala, Uganda; Andela and Google launch the Andela Learning Community; Andela hits 500 developers.

2018

First cohort completes four-year program

The first two sets of engineers complete the four-year program.

2019

Andela secures $100M Series D funding

$100M in Series D funding secured, led by Generation Investment Management and including Serena Williams’ investment platform, Serena Ventures, bringing the total venture funding to $180 million; Andela opens in Egypt.

2020

Andela goes remote

The entire Andela organization goes fully remote, permanently.

2021

Andela reaches unicorn status

Andela secures Unicorn status after announcing $200M in Series E funding, valuing the global engineering network at $1.5 billion.

2022

Brand evolution

Andela introduces its new brand.

2023

Andela launches Andela Talent Cloud

Andela acquires Casana, Codewars & Qualified.io and launches Andela Talent Cloud.

2024

A decade of impact: 10 years of connecting brilliance with opportunity
