Meet Luis; this is his story.
Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Luis’s passion for tech was sparked in the 1980s, when his father brought home a Commodore 64 computer. In his twenties, Luis discovered he could combine his love for technology with another interest: radio.
After establishing one of Argentina’s first internet radio stations, Luis worked as a radio presenter, travelling the world for his broadcasts, including a partnership with the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium. Luis and his team eventually expanded their radio offering, providing streaming services to other radio networks in Argentina, and launching an online platform to help them manage their stations in the cloud. Luis believes that, as a natural introvert, working in radio helped him to come out of his shell, and develop the soft skills he would need to lead in the tech industry.
Today, as a Project Manager with GitHub, Luis manages global technical teams, helping to empower other technologists to bring the best of themselves to their work.
