In a groundbreaking move for Africa’s tech landscape, Andela has joined forces with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation® (CNCF®) and Linux Foundation Education to launch a training program designed to equip 20,000 to 30,000 African tech professionals with essential cloud native skills. Through this program, participants will have the opportunity to earn certifications such as the Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) and the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Andela and NVIDIA worked together in 2024 to empower African talent by providing upskilling opportunities in advanced GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) technologies and tools, essential for solving problems and driving innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science via the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI). Since the inception of this collaboration, Andela has provided training to nearly 500 technologists in different certifications form NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Institute courses such as Rapid Application Development with Large Language Models, Getting Started with Deep Learning, Acceleration End-to-End Data Science Workflows, and Prompt Engineering with LLaMA-2.
The Google Africa Developer Scholarship (GADS) program, in partnership with Google and Pluralsight, has trained over 100,000 developers across Africa. Launched in 2017, this program focused on Android Development, Google Cloud, and Mobile Web technologies. It empowered learners with the tools and mentorship necessary to build, innovate, and make an impact in their communities.
Designed in collaboration with Meta, this 7-week course focused on equipping developers with skills in React.js, one of the most widely used front-end frameworks. Participants dove deep into Advanced React concepts – including hooks, state management, and responsive design; Real-world projects that challenge and enhance problem-solving abilities; and Mentorship and guidance from experienced software engineers.
Our Azure Cloud training program offered developers the chance to gain expertise in one of the most in-demand cloud platforms. This training focuses on cloud computing fundamentals and practical applications, enabling participants to harness the power of Azure to build and deploy scalable solutions.
Andela Technical Leadership Program (ATLP) is a comprehensive nine-month program that focuses on both technical proficiency and leadership development. Targeted at engineers in Rwanda, this program prepares developers to take on leadership roles in the tech ecosystem. With a robust curriculum covering backend technologies like Node.js, MongoDB, and Express.js, ATLP transforms learners into full-stack engineers capable of building scalable, secure web applications.
The Andela Skills Race supported our technologists in 2023 throughout their journey to becoming AWS-certified cloud practitioners with live training sessions with certified cloud experts and self-paced learning modules. Beyond building foundational knowledge of AWS cloud, the program covered core AWS services and use cases, billing and pricing models, security concepts, and how the cloud positively impacts business to help anyone kickstart their dream career in cloud computing.
