Andela Opens New Nigerian HQ! Hint: It's EPIC

At Andela, we consider ourselves pretty Excellent. We love to infuse Passion into our work. We approach our gigs with Integrity, and we leverage the amazing people that surround us through relentless Collaboration. In short, we’re a pretty EPIC company. These EPIC values are Andela’s core values—they guide our mission, illustrate our vision, and help us attract some of the best talent around the globe. They’ve been the pillars upon which we’ve grown over the past three years—culminating most recently with hitting the 500 employee milestoneback in March. And sometimes, with growth like that, those pillars need a little extra support. And sometimes that support happens to be... a completely new office. We are extremely excited to announce the opening of our all new, state-of-the-art tech office, EPIC Tower. EPIC Tower will serve as our Lagos, Nigeria HQ, and support the growth of our company as we continue to attract some of the brightest minds across Africa.

Last week we welcomed business and tech leaders from the community to join in the celebration of the new office opening. Among those that attended were former ICT Minister, Omobola Johnson, MainOne CEO, Funke Opeke, and representatives from the US Consulate.

True to the name, EPIC Tower follows equally EPIC design. With two floors and four wings, EPIC Tower houses over 300 employees—it’s nested within a modern office complex and features of innovative design. It boasts an array of features that enable Andela Developers to function at their highest productivity levels—including meeting rooms fixed with soundproof glass, and even cozy nap pods for a quick 15, and even a turfed rooftop patio that supports outdoor work (at least when it’s not hosting morning warm up sessions or yoga). Each of the four wings have their own unique theme based on Andela’s four locations—Nairobi, Lagos, NYC, and SF. Curated elements and decorations pay tribute to each location and its history—like a life-size cushioned canoe in the Hudson River wing.

In the near three years since Andela’s inception, Andela Developers have hosted meetups, hackathons, coding mentorship sessions and more, in collaboration with Lagos-based and global tech communities.
